• Federal Rules Impact Private Property

If the public travels on your property that you own or manage, your pavement markings, traffic signs and traffic control devices are now required to conform to the MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices).
Effective January 16, 2007, the FHWA (Federal Highway Administration) amended the United States Code to clarify the applicability of MUTCD to ANY road open to the public. That includes: shopping centers, apartment complexes, offices, and recreation facilities.
